Cincinnati native, FlyBoy had a connection with music from an early age but didn’t know what to do with it professionally until moving to Panama City Beach In 2008.
There, the House music DJ earned a residency at the largest nightclub in America at the time, Club La Vela. He worked with DJ NYU of NYU Entertainment, Deftal DJ’s, the legendary Mike Busey, and opened for DJ UNK until his departure in 2011, but not before appearing in a Travel Channel spring break-themed episode showcasing the club.
Returning to Cincinnati in the summer of 2011, FlyBoy worked the local bar and club scene then entered the Cincinnati DJ Battles in 2013 hosted by DJ Kombat and was awarded second place.
FlyBoy carried on with his internet radio show, “FlyBoy Radio” that peaked at over 3000 weekly listeners, a vast audience for 2013, and collaborated with local DJ, WillKill, to host, “Open Tables,” a showcase of Cincinnati DJ’s held at Mount Adams Pavilion.
2014 saw FlyBoy ring in the new year at Jefferson Social, a new bar on the Banks of Cincinnati and gained a residency at Below Zero Lounge, the only House music friendly bar in the area.
With his newly gained residency, he also performed at local establishments, 601, Luxe, 701 Bar, Zazou, R.P. McMurphy’s, and Monk’s Cove for their “Turn Up Tuesday.”
With another residency under his belt at Mount Adams Pavilion in 2015, FlyBoy was enjoying spinning House and Top 40 remixes for patrons in the Penthouse of Pavilion as well as the main floor. While maintaining his bi-weekly commitment to M.A.P., FlyBoy also performed at local hotspots, Arnies, Mount Lookout Tavern, The Saint Claire, The Righteous Room, Igby’s, The Stretch, and his old favorite, Below Zero Lounge, just to name a few.
In 2018, FlyBoy made his debut with Sunshine Sessions, a brand that focuses on bi-weekly events at outdoor venues in Cincinnati that continues to this day. Besides performing at each event, FlyBoy maintains the brand’s website, social media accounts, and produces its promo videos for advertising.
Today, FlyBoy continues his longest-tenured relationship with Below Zero Lounge by hosting a bi-weekly Saturday night event, “Remix Saturday” that has been called “I’ll House You” and “Second Saturday” in the past.
He also hosts a weekly Sunday service industry night, “House Of SIN,” providing its patrons with various local talent who specialize in House music.
Friday nights see FlyBoy at Tillie’s Lounge (Below Zero’s sister lounge) where he features rare grooves, Funky House, Afro House, and Deep Minimal Tech House.
A long time friend of Cincinnati’s DJ Nautigroove, FlyBoy has joined forces with his promotions company, In The Groove Productions, to occasionally appear on his weekly live stream broadcast, Progression Sessions, and has performed at the brand’s “Elements” night held at Mixwell’s.
A popular and established DJ in the Cincinnati area, FlyBoy continues to perform at several other events such as “Harmony In The PentHouse” where local DJ’s Ben and Milkshake highlight regional and female talent at Mount Adams Pavilion, “Sound Saturday,” a monthly show hosted by DJ D-Link and DJ Pumba at Arts OTA, and various one-off shows across the city.
When he’s not performing, FlyBoy enjoys releasing mashup’s or personal edits to the public for a purchased download proving that besides his exemplary scratching, mixing and production/technical skills, his knowledge of the local scene, its venues, and its patrons speak for themselves.
